A lil more info about my practice and who I like to work with:
How My Brain Works (And How We Will Work):
My brain loves patterns and moves associatively, so the best sessions are process-oriented and organic; I am not exaggerating when I say that literally suffer trying to communicate in a linear way. My preferred style is fluid, deep, and conversational, not structured. So let's get this out of the way:

✧If you want to jump into the deep process, map out complex systemic patterns, speak in metaphors, and follow the natural web of your insights without a rigid agenda, you are entirely my people.

✧HOWEVER, if you are looking for a highly structured, step-by-step roadmap, weekly worksheets, or traditional behavioral treatment plans (like CBT), I am decidedly not the right fit for you. It is not wrong to want that, it's just not what I do. (If you've had this experience in therapy in the past and did not enjoy it, you might find my vibe very refreshing!)
✨ You Are My People If...
✧You look at the world and see interconnected webs rather than straight lines.
✧ Your best conversations bounce all over the place, but you can always find the through-line and get where you're going eventually. Moving around in conversation not only doesn't bother you, but you enjoy and prefer it.

✧You use humor, irony, and deep self-awareness to navigate a complicated world.
✧You're the friend everyone goes to for advice and a laugh, but sometimes you don't feel like you have that person for yourself.
✧You'd like a therapist who is relational and connective, but also able to laugh at the absolute cluster*** life can be...while holding space for YOU for once.
✧You lean progressive and care deeply about collective humanity because you know no one is free until everyone is free. Liberation and decolonization are part of your vision for a better world.
✧ You find yourself actively deconstructing societal norms, cultural expectations, or systemic pressures. You see how harmful most of these systems are to all of us, and value naming the systemic issues, not just the personal ones.

What else? Let's see....

I sincerely love working with men who want to do the work. I sometimes get accused of being a man apologist, but it's not that. I hold men accountable and am challenging, but I also deeply understand and empathize with the ways in which being socialized male in this culture has absolutely harmed you.

For the record, I don't think men are the enemy of feminism; I think you're one of its casualties too. Patriarchy taught you to be tough and silent and feelings-free, but maybe you don't want to be any of that. Untangling those expectations is a lot of what we'll do here. Men tend to appreciate how I communicate, which is direct and clear.
But it's not just about the men: if you are any adult human in the WTF era of your life ready to dig in to some of the messy, beautiful parts of yourself, you are in the right place; people of all genders are welcome.
Being one myself, I also love perimenopausal women who are done people-pleasing or shrinking and want to practice taking ownership in a new way over your body, sexuality, energy, + LIFE.
Be forewarned that I do not think women should be expected to raw dog perimenopause...my life got infinitely better once I was finally properly hormonally medicated. (Progesterone for sleep and anxiety? *chef's kiss*) So I'll definitely be asking what your hormone replacement plans are and sharing resources if you want them! (It's ok if you don't)
I love working with people in any transition of any kind who need to sort through what's happened and decide what's next. Sometimes you need support working through your feelings about aging, death + dying. (Or dealing with your parents aging and dying, which is very common right now for those of us in the Gen X/elder millennial generations.)
I deeply cherish the honor of being the first person someone comes out to about questioning gender or sexuality; I've handheld many clients and friends through these questions over the years. Maybe just because my AuDHD self thought it was normal to ask things like, "Have you ever considered...?" about basically anything. Apparently, I have always tended to ask the questions no one else dares to ask.
But that makes me good at my job, honestly. I will ask the questions.
My warm, casual, and informal approach coupled with years of experience, humor, and authenticity creates a safe and judgment-free space for folks to explore their unique life challenges. Whatever is going on with you; if you're willing to be messy and human and honest, I'm down for it.
You should be forewarned, I cuss a lot, sorry/not sorry. If you want to know more about me as a person, I have a whole bio on my coaching website you're welcome to visit here. I'm truly an open book, on purpose.

I've been a licensed clinical social worker for 15+ years, and I mostly reject the traditional ways of doing things. I offer an eclectic, trauma-informed, evidence-informed, intuitive practice, but I don't just use one modality. We are here to be messy + human together. Including making mistakes, and practicing repair.
Again: if you feel strongly that you need a step by step plan or timeline for treatment, I am not a good fit for you. I like an emergent process where we just ... see what comes out.
Note: I do not do medication management, heavy duty trauma work, or treat substance use disorder. I am not a good fit for people who are experiencing SI or who are in deep depressive states. I cannot be available 24/7. Low acuity clients are the best fit for me.
